Wu Wei
Doing through not doing. It's a major principle of daoism, and says that one shouldn't act thoughtless or impulsive but rather consider where doing is direly needed to change the situation for the better.

It often works quite well, and I try to employ this principle in both my work and my private life. Sometimes I do, however, feel that I'm not active enough in the most pressing questions and too active in rather irrelevant aspects. On the other hand I do feel that I'm more active about the pressing questions than most of my fellow humans...
